Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association's Northeast Chapter Scholarship request procedures (revised January 16th, 2015)

Applicants who live in the following counties: (St. Johns, Duval, Clay, Nassau or Baker) with a program of study in the field of Horticulture or related studies may apply for scholarship awards through FNGLA’s Northeast Chapter.

Applicants from outside the Northeast Florida areas listed above may contact Brett Sendler @ # 904-827-2557 for info re: scholarship opportunities from other FNGLA Chapters. As well, all scholarship applicants are encouraged to apply for scholarship awards through the National Foliage Foundation. Applicants for Northeast Chapter awards should submit requests as follows:

  • a letter requesting assistance from FNGLA’s Northeast Chapter (include a goal statement re: a career in the “Green Industry”)
  • a letter stating work history (past 5 years)
  • a letter of reference from any previous work supervisor(s) (past 5 years)
  • a letter of reference from two teachers (past 5 years)
  • copies of school transcripts (past 5 years)
  • a list of honors, achievement awards, volunteer work or club involvement (past 5 years)
  • a statement showing costs for both the fall and spring semester (include housing, transportation, books and tuition)
  • an itemized statement of financial aide to include: (family support, personal income or other scholarships received)

Applicants should send their NEFNGLA scholarship request by e-mail to Brett Sendler as early in the school year as possible @ (sendlerb@fsdb.k12.fl.us)

The Northeast Chapter has a deadline for scholarship award requests each year. For the 2015-2016 school year, the application deadline is January 15th, 2016. Requests received after 01-15-16 will be reviewed should funds be available.
